Atlantic Health System is seeking an experienced physician to lead as Chair of the Department of Surgery at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ. The new Chair will be responsible for all aspects of the Department across 11 divisions, including growth, quality, management of perioperative services, and education. The role includes an expectation to remain clinically active (60%) and maintain a high level of clinical credibility with the Department. Note: the Department of Surgery at Overlook Medical Center includes both Orthopedics and Otolaryngology.
Strong clinical leader with experience driving improvements in quality and safety
Track record of physician leadership with progressive leadership experience a ideally as Division Chief or Vice Chair of Department
Experience within an academic setting is desirable
Comfort level managing a combination of employed and voluntary staff
MD or equivalent degree
Board certification in General Surgery; additional fellowship training in a surgical subspecialty is not required
Business degree or equivalent experience preferred
All candidates must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of New Jersey
