This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Learn more. The Psychiatrist Division Program Manager role in the Outpatient Mental Health Clinic (MHC) at the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center (JALFHCC) is the only of the four program manager roles of the MHC that specializes in military mental health and requires a specialized knowledge of military culture. It is also the only MHC program manager role that has some military staff assigned along with the VA civilian team as well as having collaborative leadership with a Designated Military Officer in managing them. The Psychiatrist Program Manager ensures staff competence and adherence to VA and DOD policies and regulations that impact member fitness for duty, ensures optimization of the delivery of evidence based treatments/special military medical examinations, communicating collaboratively with diverse catchment area military commands, and the effective and efficient use of resources. In so doing, the Psychiatrist Program Manager serves the mission to ensure mission readiness of Active Duty service members through the provision of mental health care suited to mission needs and to care for eligible families of active duty members.
