The Geri-PACT Medical Director is a physician who is responsible for the overall medical care delivered by the GeriPACT Team for the Geriatrics & Extended Care (GEC) Service Line of the VA Puget Sound Healthcare System in the American Lake Division, Department of Veterans Affairs. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus (up to an additional 7.5% of their salary (not to exceed $15k), regular salary increases. Paid Time Off: (Full-time physicians) Annual leave at the rate of eight (8) hours per biweekly pay period; Sick leave at the rate of four (4) hours per biweekly pay period; 10 paid Federal holidays per year Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years' vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA. Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement). Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory. CME: Possible $1,000 per year stipend + possible 1 week paid authorized absence to attend. Works in conjunction with Nurse Manager and Administrative Manager to oversee daily operations of the clinic. Responsible for the maintenance and improvement of medical systems to deliver quality health care for the GeriPACT patients, which includes performance improvement activities. Develops/coordinates strategic and operational planning, establishes workload targets, reviews staffing and resource utilization and monitors performance measures. Monitors appropriateness of referrals and care provided to patients in the GeriPACT Program. Coordinates the educational and clinical experience of trainees assigned to the Geri-PACT Program. Actively participate in Geriatric teaching service to include months as Attending Physician as well as ongoing educational offerings. Serves as Staff Physician with affiliated GeriPACT programs including GeroFIT, Memory Clinic and the Falls reduction clinic.
