This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. The employee serves as a Psychiatrist within Mental Health Service for the Birmingham VA Medical Center. The employee provides comprehensive clinical services to Veterans and their families. The employee will perform general psychiatric assessment and treatment in a multi-disciplinary setting. Therapeutic and clinical services associated with this position will include medication management, treatment planning, and other specialized services as needed. The employee will work closely with his/her colleagues to provide comprehensive, state-of-the-art mental health care.
