Work Schedule: Alternating weekly work schedule, Monday through Sunday 80 hours per week. Management reserves the authority to change schedule to accommodate facility needs. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required Nocturnist Psychiatrist are aligned under the chief of inpatient psychiatry. Nocturnist psychiatry staff work on station 7 days per week and then have 7 days off. They are onsite during their 7 days and assist with any psychiatry related needs on the inpatient acute mental health unit and the residential unit. They also conduct admissions to the unit and manage various consult liaison related duties that may arise during their shifts. They may also spend time in the emergency department when assessing patients. They are additionally excellent resources for Veterans in managing issues such as insomnia, chronic pain, health behavior concerns, adjusting to illness, or adherence concerns. The incumbent provides direct patient care on the acute mental health unit. Maintains competency in all aspects of Psychiatric care. Maintains currency in medication management, including adverse reactions and their appropriate treatment. Uses appropriate documentation to record patients' medical history and all aspects of the patients' Psychiatric course of treatment.
