The Iowa City Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care System (VA), is seeking a Hematologist/Oncologist. This is a dual appointment with the University of Iowa. Incumbent is expected to work at the Iowa City VA 5/8 and the University of Iowa 3/8. Duties include both direct patient care and teaching of trainees (medical students, residents, and fellows), with potential for research. Care is provided in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. There is no separate inpatient service for hematology-oncology; inpatients will be admitted to the hospitalist service. Duties include on-call and weekend obligations, shared with other division staff. Work Schedule: The Iowa City VA Medical Center is an acute care facility operating 24 hours a day 7 days a week. While most tours of duty are scheduled during the day, the possibility of "on-call" and working evenings, nights and weekends does exist.
