This announcement will remain open until filled with applications being reviewed every week or at the request of management. *** Non-Bargaining Position *** Join the VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System (VATVCBHCS) as a Supervisory Non-Invasive Cardiologist. You will oversee program operations of Cardiology-Pulmology including budget and fiscal management, human resources management, strategic planning, and program development. You will ensure that clinical and administrative functions are integrated in order to provide optimum utilization of available resources. Ensure the quality and timeliness of services provided, customer service as well as compliance with applicable standards. You will be responsible for the general or technical supervision of all clinical programs and overall technical and administrative oversight of Cardiologists, Echo Technicians, Pulmonologists, and Respiratory Therapists in the health care system. Clinical programs include Cardiology (non-invasive), pulmonology testing, diagnostic studies; X-rays, electromyography (EMG), electrocardiograms (EKG), pulmonary function testing, and C-PAP fitting. Other duties include: Provide a full range of cardiology evaluations to determine the type and degree of illnesses within the cardiology scope. Ensure that work assignments of the other members of a clinical team are carried out by performing a range of administrative duties. Conduct on-going intensive reviews and appraisals to ensure the accomplishment of objectives and adherence to standards set by the governing and accreditation bodies. Coordinate and negotiates resolutions to complex problems; prepares special reports and responses, Congressional responses, and other correspondence service related as necessary. Applies knowledge of contemporary Cardiology practice; articulates and communicates assignments, projects, problems to be solved, actionable events, and objectives, and advises on work methods, practices, and procedures. Oversee the training of graduate level Cardiology trainees, medical students, resident physicians, as well as members of other professional disciplines. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases. Paid Time Off: 49-54 days paid time off per year (26 days annual leave, 13 days' sick leave, 10 federal holidays).
