The Martinsburg VA Medical Center provides comprehensive care for patients who have illnesses within the scope of Otolaryngology. The scope of these activities covers hospitalized patients and all phases of ambulatory care. Education and length of practice are considered through a formal pay-setting process to determine the final compensable salary (Base Pay + Market Pay). Recruitment and Relocation incentive may be authorized for highly qualified candidates. The Otolaryngologist Responsibilities include: admits, evaluates, diagnoses, consults, and provides non-surgical and surgical care to patients of all ages to correct or treat illnesses, disorders, diseases, or injuries of the head and neck affecting the ears, facial skeleton, respiratory and upper alimentary system. Other responsibilities may include education of medical students and residents. Duties: Provide patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the promotion of health, prevention of illness, treatment of disease, and care at the end of life. Ensure practice-based learning and improvement, practitioners are expected to be able to use scientific evidence and methods to investigate, evaluate, and improve patient care. Demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills that enable them to establish and maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and other members of the health care team. Optimizing health care by understanding the contexts and systems in which health care is provided. Coordinate educational activities and comply with necessary trainee supervision. Perform and publish research reports. Maintain training requirements, timely completion of documentation and upkeep of credentials required for privileging and re-privileging. Participate in Clinical Pertinence Reviews. Manages Clinic for direct and indirect patient care; accurate and timely open encounter & open consult management, adheres to CPRS documentation rules. Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30, schedule may vary based on the needs of the service and are subject to change. On call duties may be required.
