Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm. Schedule subject to change to accommodate facility needs. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required Recruitment or Relocation Incentive has been authorized. The incumbent, who also serves as a staff physician, reports directly to the Director of Inpatient Mental Health, or designee, who in turn reports directly to the Deputy Chief of Staff for Mental Health, Social Work and Homeless Programs, and is responsible for providing psychiatric services to eligible Veterans through the VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS). Major Duties: Clinical: Evaluation and management of patients. The incumbent will be responsible for the evaluation of patients on the acute inpatient psychiatry units, in the emergency room and will provide consultation to other services in the hospital. The incumbent will also supervise trainees, including but not limited to medical students and residents, in all of these settings. Instructs other personnel assigned to health care team on preventive medicine programs and other appropriate medical activities and functions. Provides on-call services and other duties as needed. Administrative: Serve in hospital committees, such as Medication Management Committee or Pain Committee, and attend all meetings as needed, etc. Supports and enhances VAPAHCS philosophy and goals. Responsible for ensuring Research outcome studies are routinely conducted according to VAPAHCS policies and procedures. Other: Education of trainees and staff as required. All other duties as assigned.
