Education and length of practice are considered through a formal pay-setting process to determine the final compensable salary (Base Pay + Market Pay) The Deputy Associate Chief of Staff (DACOS), Medical Service is assigned to the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System (VASNHCS), Medical Service providing comprehensive, efficient, compassionate, high quality healthcare to all patients, functioning as a member of the Medical Service team providing clinical care to the patients at VASNHCS. As the DACOS, Medical Service, incumbent will serve as the first line supervisor for a portion of clinical Medical Service employees which includes, but is not limited to: medical specialty physicians and nurse practitioners and section chiefs. Administrative Duties include serving as Acting Associate Chief of Staff (ACOS), Medical Service in the absence of the ACOS, working with the ACOS and others on faculty and program development, collaboration with nurse practitioners, and other administrative functions of the Medical Service. The DACOS will also provide patient care in their area of expertise by way of ward attending, and/or inpatient/outpatient consultation and clinics and other clinical services specific to specialty training if applicable. Research and other scholarly activity are encouraged and available.d Additional Duties: Participate in an effective clinical program with attention to patient outcome indicators. Practice within the scope of assigned privileges. Comply with the bylaws, rules and regulations of the facility and agency. Meet medical staff criteria for initial appointment and reappointment, including ongoing CME. Comply with prescribed record keeping practices in accordance with the rules, regulations and bylaws. Comply with prescribed information security policy and procedures. Interpersonal relationships - works effectively with patients, families, staff, coworkers and other health care professionals. Participates in Medical Service educational activities and scheduled meetings. Participates in research activities with regard to the subspecialty of Emergency Medicine, as assigned. Comply with assigned Peer Reviews and maintaining quality assurance standards. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
