Iowa City VA Health Care System is recruiting for a full time Emergency Medicine Physician in the Ambulatory Care Service Line at the Iowa City VA Medical Center. The provider will have demonstrated primary interest in Ambulatory Care and peer recognition for clinical competence. This is an open continuous announcement. Application packets for those who are found qualified for this position will be referred every 2 weeks until the announcement is closed, canceled or filled. Duties include: Physician will provide care to patients who present to the Iowa City Emergency Department. During the course of employment, participation in special projects may be necessary as the projects become available with strategic or other initiatives. Physicians may be assigned duty as a supervising or collaborating physician for a mid-level provider. Physicians are expected to provide clinical oversight and review. Supervising or collaborating responsibilities and performance will be noted in the physician's performance evaluation. A progress note must be entered on all patients seen in the ER at the time of the visit. Timely documentation is necessary in all areas in accordance with departmental policy. All administrative work should be completed in a timely fashion. Quality of care should be able to meet professional standards at all times. All physicians will work within their privileges at all times, unless necessitated by an emergency. Work Schedule: Typical work hours are 80 hours per pay period for full time and variable less than 80 hours part time hours per two weeks pay period. These hours may by in 8- or 12-hour shifts. Alternative work hours should be agreed upon at the time of joining. On call required. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
