Providence is calling a Laboratory Assistant III to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA.
This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), variable shift position.
We are seeking a Laboratory Assistant III to be responsible for clinical laboratory services including technologist support, clerical support and patient registration.
In this position you will:
Explain steps, requirements and procedures to customers
Perform telephone and reception duties
Ensure cleanliness in the lab and maintain instruments.
Handle and process multiple specimen drops, i.e., Courier Drops, Health Care Professional Drops and Tube Station Specimen Drops
Use a computer to register lab patients, order tests and input specimen data
Required qualifications for this position include:
Sufficient education to read & understand instructions.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a Phlebotomy course (including completion of a 4 week internship in Phlebotomy in a clinical laboratory setting).
Active Medical Assistant-Phlebotomy certification from the Washington State Department of Health, which includes the 7 hours of Blood Borne Pathogens training.
Keyboarding skills - 30 WPM.
Keypunch skills - 12000 KPH with accuracy.
Computer skills including Windows.
